This book covers Jacobson's work from 1988 through 1993 and show the classical modernism of his mature style. Many of the domestic projects elegantly reinterpret elements of the American vernacular tradition, such as the gabled saltbox house. Some of these works consist of serenely composed groups of pavilions, clad in brick, stucco, shingle, or clapboard. While strikingly contemporary, they all reflect a thorough understanding of traditional American dwelling styles. The book also includes a church and Jacobson's work on the West Front of the United States Capitol.
