PRAYING THE PROPHETS

Praying the Prophets is a Sunday through Saturday prayer book of 29 Canticles and 24 Readings from Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Habakkuk, Hosea, Zechariah, Judith, Tobit, Samuel, Joel, Malachi, Micah, Nehemiah, Sirach, Song of Songs, Wisdom, 1st Chronicles, and Deuteronomy. They are Old Testament canticles and readings used in Ordinary Time in the Liturgy of the Hours, also called Christian Prayer, with extra readings for the seasons of Advent, Christmas, and Lent. These meditation renderings appeared previously in a slightly different form in Hinge Hours for Ordinary Time, Hings Hours for Advent, Hinge Hours for Christmas, and Hinge Hours for Lent and Easter.
