STROKE OF GOD

Every year, more than 795,000 people in the United States have a stroke.About 610,000 of these are first or new strokes.About 185,00 strokes-nearly one of four-are in people who have had a previous stroke.About 87% of all strokes are ischemic strokes, when blood flow to the brain is blocked.Americans suffer 1.5 million heart attacks and strokes each year. Cardiovascular disease-including heart disease and stroke-is the leading cause of death in the United States. Every day, 2,200 people die from cardiovascular diseases-thats nearly 800,000 Americans each year, or 1 in every 3 deaths. Louis Turbeville, like many of those affected by these statistics, thought Never Me. In 2013, Louis was struck with not one of the categories of above, but two. Journey with him through the all too common walk, many of us will be touched by in our life-time. Louis tries to help us understand, from the view of a survivor, of not only how mentally difficult this lifetime journey is to the victim, but to those support networks that help them through.
