Sinopsis
In the title story of this collection, an offbeat crammer teacher recounts a story of a princess who is betrothed to a dog as a reward for licking her bottom clean, only to have her own life turned upside down by the appearance of a dog-like man with a predilection for the same part of her anatomy.
Acclaimed Japanese writer Yoko Tawada is at the forefront of experimentation with the short story form. A resident of Germany for nearly twenty years, Tawada has boldly challenged conventional notions of language and storytelling. The results are colorful threads of words that weave a tapestry of imagery as strange and exhilarating as the best of dreams. In these three stories Tawada has created a new kind of fantasy, playful yet vaguely sinister, laced with her own distinctive brand of humor.
