“The Top and the Bottom” is a picture book that stands out for the simplicity and originality of its narrative and aesthetic proposal. Starting from the concept of the world in reverse, a kind of reflection of reality in a parallel dimension, it is far from insisting on the principle that there are different or antagonistic lifestyles, but rather tries to prove that these are worlds that coexist side by side, that share habits and complement each other, with the only difference being that the events take place on opposite planes... they duplicate each other, and may even meet or coincide. An album to read aloft, or upside down, as you wish; ideal for sharing, with one reader on each side. The illustrations show us a very particular neighbourhood with characters of basic shapes and symmetrical scenes, supported by soft, warm colours.
