Dutiful daughter Eleanor Trent lives in St. Louis with her father, and she is appalled when he arranges a marriage for Nora to a man she hardly knows. However, after being abandoned by her husband the day after the marriage, Nora discovers that her new husband and her father have used her for reasons that are a complete mystery to her.

Rebelling against her father, Nora travels to Texas to find her missing husband. Once she is in Texas, she meets Galen Hall when shes forcibly taken from her stagecoach.
