In this book, we follow Elodie Laurent, Kanchana Desai, and Afroze Mehra from their early years under the guidance of their inspiring teachers, Mrs. Laila Khalil and Dr. Zayd Hasan. Their story begins in the prologue, where we meet them as curious eight-year-olds, eager to learn and explore. From unravelling Mughal mysteries to uncovering the hidden treasures of the ancient Mayan temples, these historians embark on a quest that takes them across time and space. Each chapter delves into a new mystery, a new historical enigma waiting to be solved. As the story unfolds, they confront challenges, debate the peaks of trade, and reveal the courage woven into the fabric of history.

But Once Upon Historians is not just about the past; its also about the personal journeys of Elodie, Kanchana, and Afroze. In Chapter 21, they reunite with Zayd and Lailas family, deepening their connection to their mentors and each other. Yet, as history has its share of triumphs and tragedies, so do their lives. The diagnosis of Zayd with cancer in Chapter 23 marks a poignant turn in the narrative, leading to a heartfelt conclusion in Chapter 30, where Zayd shares his last wish before passing away.
