With the worldwide Great Disappearance, magic has come out of the closet. In the blink of an eye, iconic structures around the world have simply vanished. As for all the people who were in them at the time—goners, all of them. Now, the worlds mortal citizens are shaking down to their bloomers, having grasped humans have all the ability to fight such a powerful force as gnats in a tornado.

But the dynamic duo are on the case again: Special Agent Annabelle Haggerty, a genuine Celtic goddess hidden within the FBI, and her flakey sidekick, confused psychic Samantha Brennan. Too bad Annabelle isnt at her best, feeling an inexplicable dimming of her powers. Is that muting of her divine skills the work of the same magical being who caused those structures to go poof? Theres the life-sized, back-stabbing troll, the snarky unicorn, not to mention trees that shake so violently, they look like theyre having seizures. Yet none seem related to their case.

Secrets and lies tear the two friends apart. When the world is struck by a new round of supernatural crimes, Annabelle finds she cant rely on her divine gifts. Samantha realizes saving the world could come down to her. She pities a planet facing the unimaginable ruin she sees in her visions, with only a good-time girl like her to save it.
