THE CHOSEN SIX
Sinopsis
Ezra Novak has spent years helping other people make sense of their lives while quietly losing his grip on his own. A therapist known for listening deeply and asking the right questions, he has built an identity around usefulness, restraint, and control. Then strange things begin happening: shadows move where they should not, dreams feel more solid than waking life, and delicate silver markings appear beneath his skin.
As Ezras carefully ordered existence starts to come apart, the boundary between psychological crisis and something harder to explain grows increasingly uncertain. Friends worry. His professional life falters. New people enter his orbit, some offering help, others encouraging him to follow the fracture further. What begins as a private unraveling becomes a confrontation with everything Ezra has spent a lifetime suppressing—need, anger, loneliness, desire, and the frightening possibility that the person he has always called himself may have been partly an invention.
The Chosen Six is a novel about what happens when the structures that once kept us functioning stop working, and when falling apart may be neither failure nor salvation, but the beginning of a much more difficult question: what remains when we can no longer perform the person we were supposed to be?
