Jo Baker es una autora inglesa nacida en Lancashire, que a los 18 años se licenció en literatura en la universidad de Oxford. En 1995 se trasladó a Belfast y allí empezó a escribir cuentos, que fueron incluidos en numerosas antologías. En 2001 publicó su primera novela y ahora tiene ya cinco títulos en su haber. Las sombras de Longbourn ha significado su consagración en el mercado internacional.
