Understanding the globalness of a city is difficult and is often explained through anecdotes or partial material. This book reflects on the need for systems based on public spaces (squares, streets, parks, etc.) and the way that these spaces are offered as a method for knowing what the urban reality is and what it should be. This is done by describing public spaces that are fundamental to certain cities and the ways in which these spaces collaborate in the urban form. It is a journey, or rather a walk, through a dozen cities located in different geographical environments.
